Sapir Berman has taken on a huge social and cultural task - she offers an open meeting with a normative trans woman. Berman takes trans people out of the social margins, and places her in the center. We were happy to hear that she is studying biblical teaching, and we would love to work with her in the future.

We had the privilege of hosting Sapir Berman as panel member for our “Meeting on the Field” 2022 World Cup event. Sapir shared her personal story and message as part of a special panel about sports and politics. The European Union is proud to be a strong global supporter of transgender rights and is always thrilled to work with local leaders and heroes like Sapir.

Tonight we managed to fulfill a dream We hosted Sapir Berman, the first transgender soccer referee in Israel and in the world who made history! In her lecture, Sapir revealed her heart to us in an interesting, exciting, fascinating and special lecture, an inspiring woman! What Sapir is doing is a mission for her but also for us, as a society.. We must remember to work to internalize and accept each person as a person, and accept each person in their choices. For Playstudios’ Pride event this year, we were thrilled to welcome Sapir Berman, Israel’s first soccer referee who is transgender, as well as the first trans referee to officiate at a top-level match anywhere in the world. Sapir came to tell her inspiring story in her talk, "A Referee, Not a Judge," and for us it was a dream come true. Our team members were left speechless, emotional, and some even with tears in their eyes. By sharing her personal story, Sapir highlighted how important it is for us all to listen to our hearts, act with courage, express our unique voices, and show our bright colors, making the whole world a more colorful, beautiful place. This echoed the message that is always very important for us to emphasize at Playstudios, in terms of how crucial it is to create a workplace environment where every single person feels free to be who they are, reflecting their unique perspectives and all the diverse colors and shades you can imagine. We launched Pride Month with the amazing Sapir Berman, who shared her inspiring life story with us, with unusual honesty, authenticity, and humor. There’s seriously no one else like Sapir. Employees came up to us and said it was the best talk they’d ever attended (and some of them have been working here for a decade!).
